Some Results from the Spring 2004 Semester of PHYS 3154 Observational Astrophysics

Students reported observations of the locations of asteroids, including some Near Earth Objects, to the International Astronomical Union (IAU) Minor Planet Center.

At the end of the semester each student gave an oral presentation on a project they worked on during the semester. The presentations are listed below.
  1. Carol Thornton "Detecting Asteroids: A Search for Asteroid 8373 Stephengould"
  2. Jeffrey Watkins "Differential Photometry of BL Camelopardalis"
  3. Laura Hofford "Hunting For Asteroids"
  4. Russell Hewett "The Effects of Different Flat Field Types When Reducing Images of M42"
  5. Josh Peebles "Imaging of M42 with Clear and Red Filters"
  6. Eric Spiegel "Astrometric Measurements of Three Near Earth Asteroids"
  7. Christopher Purcell "Differential Photometry of the Variable Star BL Cam"
  8. Josh Hattery "Astrometry: The Hunt for Big Rocks"
