Hello, I am currently enrolled as a graduate student in the department of physics at Virginia Tech.  My research project is part of the ultra-cold neutron (UCN) physics project at the Los Alamos neutron science center (LANSCE); it is development of the transport system for UCN in the neutron beta decay A-correlation experiment.  The bulk of my work has been developing a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated quartz guide for UCN transport and storage.  As with most graduate students I have a life beyond the physics department.

I am from Washington State as is my wife Dr. Diane E. Vaughan, who recently received her Ph.D.. in Operations Research from Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech.  And, we have a four year old son AJ who loves to take any free time we have.
